Mechanical engineering and design of support structures for optical assemblies and motorized components.

  • Support prototyping through production with documentation and ECO’s
  • Provide general engineering support for our existing product line
  • Apply rapid-prototype methods to fast-track projects
  • Some electronics packaging design is helpful.


  • BSME and 5 years mechanical engineering in a prototype to production environment
  • Experience with optical mounts and structures
  • Experience with principles of EMI shielding and electronics packaging
  • Demonstrated ability with Autodesk Inventor and CAD platforms

The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of precision mechanics design experience. Experience with precision stage design and motion control systems is desired. BS in engineering is required, and in-depth experience with Autodesk Inventor is necessary, although experience with other 3D CAD software will be considered.

Checkpoints strong technological base and leading market position created an opportunity for growth for a CUSTOMER SERVICE ENGINEER (Field Service) based in our San Jose, CA. office. 

Working with customer on site preparation and installation of Checkpoint equipment, checking operational quality of equipment, providing service and repair as needed, provide instruction to users in the operation and maintenance as needed. You will serve as a company liaison with customer on special administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.  This position will require approximately 50% travel, local, domestic and/or international.

Work on problems of a diverse technical scope where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Requires B.S. degree or equivalent experience (2-5 years), a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and the ability to deal both professionally and effectively with customers.

The employee is regularly required to talk & listen, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fine finger manipulation, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually moderate cubicle environment or moderate to noisy manufacturing environment.
